I’m thrilled to share that my self-portrait “Subject to Change” received Third Place at the Then & Now: Stories of Change exhibition at Salem Arts Association this evening.
Guest Juror Kate Luchini shared these thoughtful words:
“The subject looks straightforward, at ease with herself, and has slight laugh lines that reflect a life well lived. The dappling and dripping of the paint appear to slowly obscure her peaceful portrait, reminding me of a fogged mirror. Maybe a commentary on how all of our histories are eventually lost to time?”
Congratulations to my fellow Gallows Hill Artists member Jim Bostick for Best of Show and to the talented John Wathne for Second Prize. Feeling so inspired to be in such talented company.

New Studio. New Chapter. Welcome to Gallows Hill Artist Studios.
I’m excited to share that just last month, I moved into a new studio space in Salem, MA at the Gallows Hill Artists building on Proctor Street. This historic warehouse—once an old tannery—is now the creative workspace for over two dozen artists working across a variety of mediums, and I’m thrilled to be part of this vibrant community. The newly built workspace brings me closer to home and offers a fresh chapter surrounded by fellow artists. Stay tuned for upcoming open studio events throughout the year—I’d love to welcome you in person!
